This card is for my husband for his birthday .  The layout was inspired by the Pals Paper Art Sketch this week.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Okay first off, I realize that the picture is awful.  I was in a hurry to get this posted before church and over slept today.  That is what I get for not doing this last night!

SO, I had to make another birthday card or this week, and I love the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches:

 

 

 

I decided to use more neutral colors and DSP and then the “popping pastel” technique to color in my image.  I was going for a softer look.  I hope you enjoy

 

My mother in law has a birthday this month.  I saw the color challenge from Create with Connie and Mary, and thought floral.

 

I then saw the sketch from Try Stamping on Tuesday and thought I could use this for her!

 

 

My results:

HSS (Hand STamped Sentiments) had a “Love is in the Air” challenge this week.  How fitting, that I have a bunch of last minute items for Valentine’s day!

 

So, normally I try to do goody bags, or something for the kids’ Valentine Day parties.  I always feel bad that I never take the day off work to be there to help out, but that kind of goes with balancing a schedule of working and all that fun stuff.  A few years back I made candy packets for my kids, letting each one pick out what kind they wanted to give with their cards.  Some years it has been suckers, others the little mini matchbox.  This year, I was in a time crunch of having to make other things for their class party, that I put their candy portion off till last minute.  The result: a sour cream candy container.  I had to make 50 of these, and this was absolutely the quickest container to make 50 in one sitting!

 

I also had to use all retired supplies.  I realized that the heart stamp set that I had and is current did not work with the large heart punch.  I also didn’t get the one out of the mini as I have 4 Valentine stamp sets.  (yes 2 are retired but my kids still pick those out!)

Anyways, I used the DSP from last year and this stamp to help make 50 candy containers for the kids to pass out with their cards!
