March SAS card

This card is my “CASEd” version of one from Sandi Maciver.  This is blank but I had the request for a “thinking of you”, “Mother’s Day” or “Get Well Card.”  This one is flexible enough that any sentiment can be added down in the bottom right corner to fit any of those requests.  I also love that it is quick and simple.  I usually try to have a balance of more technique based and simple cards when I have a Stamp a stack.  It also helps fill the want to showcase items from the Occassion Mini (punch and Mixed Bunches set) as well as from the SAB (bright buttons)

Regionals Update

I am still in awe of all the wonderful creations that were at Regionals yesterday here in Columbus.  It was so great to finally be able to attend a Stampin’ Up! event, and even better to meet all the wonderful people.  I had so many pictures that I do not know where to start, so it will be a day or so before I start sharing some of the ideas I saw there.

Now I am going to share the goodies that my friend Stephanie Gibson made for our table.  Since no one in my group was going to be there, she let me join her and her group at there table.  Since she was also helping out we had a Prime table right in front of the stage and screens!!!  I didn’t even need my glasses!

First there was a white bag with the tag on it!  (So need to get this die set! ;) )

Then inside the bag was a personalized CD case.

Inside that a Pen & notebook.  Which I have to say was great considering when I ran out of the house in the morning I completely forgot to throw mine in the bag I brought!

Upcoming SAS card

I have to say I feel out of whack with making SAS (Stamp a Stack) cards lately.  I have one coming up and wanted to try to showcase not only items from the new Occassions mini but also from the SAB catalog.

  •  So this card I use the DSP from the SAB catalog, as well as the floral punch and Mixed Bunches Stamp set.
  •  I made a point to continue the distressed coloring around the edges of the DSP by sponging Soft Suede around the two cut edges.
  • The Embossed top portion seemed to need something so I also took the sponge and lightly ran it over the top using Poppy Parade to help color the embossed portions.  I love this effect!
  • The Flower is two layers of the punch.  One in Poppy Parade and the other is in Vanilla with the image from Mixed Bunched in Poppy Parade.  The imaged punch is also lightly sponged with both Soft Suede and Poppy Parade
  • Add the center of the flower, a brad and a little ribbon and the card is completed!

CASEd Butterfly cards

Sandi Maciver has provided a lot of inspiraion for some of my cards recently.  These two are cased off of one of her’s that she posted awhile back.

Second:  This one the image is a little better, but I moved the ribbon over more, and added many more of the embossed butterflies and pearl accents.

Columbus Regional Card Swap

So, finally I am getting back to posting…I hope it was worth the wait.  I made the following card for Columbus Regionals this coming weekend.  I actually had a lot of additional coloring to do since I wanted to blend the colors on the flowers to help soften the look.  I also wanted to use the Edgelit die and embossing folder.  But then I realized that I wanted to the total affect to show on the card.

So the first image is the outside of the card.

I mentioned before that I know they do card fronts mainly, but if using the edgelit, then you have to show the entire concept of the card.  Which for me meant including the completed card.  So I also finished the inside of the card.

So the petals are colored with Blushing Bride and Regal Rose, the smallest buds I used Rose Red.  I also used the blender pen to help in “bluring” the lines between the colors.  The leaves are colored with Certainly Celery and Pear Pizzaz.  If you haven’t tried this combination, it is a MUST for leaves.  I wanted to provide as much depth in the image as possible.

Since I felt the front looked a little plain with just the White image I wanted to layer it with Baja Breeze.  It was still missing something, so I added the oval punches and sentiment and finished it off with one of the new designer series buttons that are part of the Twitterpatted grouping..  This card features so many of the new products from the Occassions Mini, that it hopefully will spark some other creative juices, or also if used as a display sample help increase sales for others as well!
